My affix is Seafar I have owned Newfoundland’s since 1978 successfully breeding and showing including a championship show BIS winner and a top stud imported from the USA.
I have judged Newfoundland’s in the UK, Germany, France and Denmark.
Over the years I have owned and bred three breeds in the working group Newfoundland, Boxers and Dobermann. My first Dobermann was Muiryett’s Miya Sama of Seafar aka “Lola” she was born on 29/09/1981 and was a loving family pet and devoted companion to my young son until the day she died. I did show her with some success she had two litter’s one sired by Murdostown Flying Scot and the second litter by Kilmuir The Carpetbagger. Tragically in 1985 parvo-virus was rife and I lost most of both these litters the memory of that time still haunts me to this day.
My first judging appointment for Dobermann was at Carluke in 1995. I am honoured to have been invited to judge a breed club show as the breed are a huge favourite of mine.
Out-with showing my dogs I enjoy the administrative side of dog showing I am a founder member and current treasurer of the Northern Japanese Chin Club, secretary of The Newfoundland Club UK, and until recently chair of the Joint Newfoundland Club’s Health & Longevity committee regularly liaising with the AHT regarding the Genome Project.
In Scotland I have served on the committees of the Scottish Boxer Club, Carluke & District and Clydebank & District carrying out various roles including Show Manager. I have regularly stewarding for SKC and been a member for over twenty-five years
